They say life happens when you’re busy making plans.
That’s been true for me more times than I can count — and it’s certainly true of this website.

I didn’t set out to “rebrand” or build a sleek new site. I just wanted something that felt more like… me.

For years, I’ve quietly captured your stories — family portraits, headshots, red carpets, reunions, nonprofit milestones — but my own story? That stayed behind the camera.

Until now.

Why I Chose to Redesign

I’m a trans woman.
I live with epilepsy.
I run a photography and photo restoration business out of my home in Westminster, California.
And like so many of you, I’ve walked through enough storms to know: truth matters.

When I finally took a step back and looked at my old website, I realized it didn’t reflect the whole heart of what I do — or why I do it.
It didn’t reflect the grit, grace, and growth behind the lens.

I needed something more honest.
More human.
Something that honored where I came from and where I’m going.

That’s when I turned to AI — not to replace me, but to support me.

Let’s Talk About AI (and Real Life)

I used AI to help shape this redesign — not just technically, but emotionally.

It helped me organize ideas, write about my services with clarity, and visualize what a site rooted in storytelling and survival could look like.

As a one-woman show, I spend my days photographing real people and my nights restoring old photos and memories by hand. Life is full — beautifully so — but also overwhelming at times.

Using AI gave me breathing room.
It gave me a pause button.
It let me focus more on you and less on code.

This isn’t about automation.
This is about authenticity.

The new site — built on PhotoBiz using the Imogen template — reflects the full range of what Dansby Photography offers:
